Engagements & Consulting
Dr. Joshi works with institutions in three ways, each suited to a different level of engagement and a different moment in the work. A keynote can open the conversation. A workshop goes deeper with a specific group. Consulting is the long game. Many clients begin with one and return for more.

Keynotes & Lectures
Dr. Joshi combines the rigor of a scholar with the accessibility of a gifted communicator. Her keynotes are not abstract lectures; they are arguments, grounded in research, shaped for the specific audience in front of her. She speaks to faculty, executives, educators, judges, and community leaders, and adjusts register and depth accordingly.
Keynotes work best as a catalyst, generating energy and shared language that a workshop or consulting relationship can then build upon. Many institutions that begin with a keynote return for deeper work.

Signature Topics
The experience of working with Dr. Joshi permanently changed the way I think as a leader about bias in the workplace, and it has proven time and time again to be a valuable resource as I work to develop my own leadership competencies and strengthen my teams. Feedback from the attendees revealed how refreshing it was to have nuanced, meaningful discussions about bias. I would recommend Dr. Joshi to any organization that seeks to build inclusive teams, to provide a voice for staff to articulate their challenges, and to develop the leaders of tomorrow.

Workshops & Institutes
Dr. Joshi’s workshops are structured programs with defined scope, sequenced learning, and measurable outcomes. Each is designed to move participants from awareness to skill, and from individual reflection to institutional change.
02
Social Justice 101
Two-day program · Non-consecutive days
The entry point. Participants examine their own dominant and marginalized identities and how those identities intersect. The program covers inequality at both individual and institutional levels. The gap between days allows real-world reflection before returning to develop concrete strategies for application.
Prerequisite for all advanced workshops
Implementing Anti-Bias Education
Intermediate/advanced · Requires SJ101
For educators and organizations ready to move beyond awareness into practice. Participants examine their current curricular offerings and collaborate on strategies to develop and implement a comprehensive anti-bias curriculum.
Educators · Curriculum teams · Administrators
Understanding Racial Identity
Intermediate · Requires SJ101
Introduces racial identity development as a process all Americans go through — not just people of color. Participants leave with a deeper understanding of themselves and others, and with tools to handle racial encounters and conflicts more constructively.
All professional contexts
Building Inclusive Teams
Intermediate · Requires SJ101
Designed for workplaces, HR professionals, and selection committees. Participants reflect on how organizational cultures and policies affect them based on their social identities, and identify strategies to build genuinely inclusive teams.
HR · Managers · Selection committees
Institute for Teaching Diversity & Social Justice (IDSJ)
4–5 day intensive · Summer sessions · Space limited
Developed specifically for educators, this intensive institute engages participants’ heads, hearts, and hands to increase awareness of their own biases and privileges and to build practical skills for teaching and leading in 21st-century classrooms. Participants develop toolkits for their grade levels or disciplines.
Through Dr. Joshi's workshops, I have learned so much that has expanded my lens on the work of Diversity, Equity and Justice. It has made me a better educator and citizen of the world. Dr. Joshi approaches her work with persistence and empathy. She challenges educators to think critically about their own identities and the identities of their students, and how both intersect in educational contexts. I would recommend her workshops to any educator seeking meaningful professional and personal development.

Specialized Contexts
Dr. Joshi brings sector-specific knowledge to every consulting engagement. Select a sector to see how she approaches that specific context.
Justice Begins Before the Verdict
Dr. Joshi has presented at New Jersey’s Judicial College and delivered CJE and CLE programs for judges, attorneys, and court staff across multiple NJ vicinages. She led the first-ever mandated Diversity and Inclusion session for all Passaic County Judges. Her approach is grounded in historical, legal, and social science perspectives — helping legal professionals identify and respond to institutional bias in ways that directly affect outcomes for those in their courts.

Justice Begins in the Classroom
Social justice in the K–12 classroom begins with teachers examining their own social identities. Dr. Joshi works with schools at all stages of this process — helping educators envision and implement inclusive, culturally responsive strategies for working with students, parents, and colleagues. She emphasizes that deep curriculum development can only happen after educators have first done the foundational self-examination work.

Faculty, Staff & the Institution
As a full professor herself, Dr. Joshi understands the nuances of working with tenured and untenured faculty on sensitive issues. Her higher education consulting includes training for student affairs and residence life offices, helping faculty and departments develop syllabi, and assisting search committees in identifying and reducing bias in hiring and promotion decisions.

Equitable Care Starts with Self-Awareness
Dr. Joshi helps professionals in health and social service fields develop the knowledge and capacity to serve diverse communities effectively. She works with leaders and staff at all levels — developing strategies for patient and client contact, creating positive workplace environments, and building inclusive teams that can deliver equitable care.

Connecting Authentically with Diverse Communities
Drawing on her background as a long-time community organizer and leader of South Asian American political organizations, Dr. Joshi helps candidates and advocacy organizations understand the diverse communities they serve. She assists elected officials and opinion leaders in connecting authentically with diverse constituents and building civic engagement in underrepresented communities.

Building Capacity for Justice
Dr. Joshi works with nonprofits and community organizations to help them respond to the needs of diverse communities and develop effective leadership strategies around bias and privilege. She has advised boards of trustees on building capacity in social justice, and has led public forums and facilitated difficult dialogues for communities in crisis — helping organizations restore trust and rebuild relationships.

03
Engagement & Follow-Through
